The first room in my clean with me series was bathrooms you can view that here. Next on the list is bedrooms. Bedrooms should really have this yearly spring clean twice a year instead. We sleep here every night and dust builds up behind furniture and on other random places you don’t always think of while you are doing your weekly cleaning. This causes you to have more allergy issues. For me I know when I need to change the filter or clean the ceiling fan because my allergies get bad. This can cause sleeping issues and that’s never good. This is how I spring and fall clean my bedroom. [Read more…]
Reading is always the top priority when it comes to my kids. As a child I hated to read but no one ever showed me how to love it. I believe it was a combination of things that caused this. I never saw my parents reading. Reading was only suggested to me at school and forced as a part of curriculum. No one took the time out to help me find a book I would be interested in. I always thought I had trouble with reading comprehension growing up. The real problem was I had to read things I wasn’t interested in multiple times to actually understand it. This was easily corrected as I found books I loved and had more practice reading books I was interested in. With more practice I was able to comprehend even those books that I had no interest in. I have a child that has struggled with reading since day one and one that is picking it up easily. I have been concerned with my oldest for a while reading was not getting through to her I have tried almost every reading curriculum out there on her. The problem was not the curriculum she just wasn’t mentally ready. Now she reads at grade level and is doing well with chapter books. Once I saw her ability to read long picture books I wanted to get her started on chapter books. Here are the steps that I took to get her to read chapter books and absolutely love them. I hope these tips help you help your child to love reading chapter books. [Read more…]

The easiest holiday snack ever gold Oreos. I love painting things gold I love the new life gold gives to old outdated knickknacks. So when I saw this idea I was like uhh…. yeah!!! I’m doing that!! What a perfect way to make a yummy cookie into a gold coin perfect for your little leprechaun at the end of the rainbow. Pair it with green milk, some skittles, and marshmallows and its a party. We loved making these little leprechaun hats too. They are made with party cups and foam sheets cut to size seriously so easy!!! My kids loved making their own skittles rainbow with marshmallow cloud and dipping there gold coins in the green milk. I hope you enjoy this fun and easy addition to your St. Patrick’s Day. Don’t forget the true meaning of St. Patrick’s day here is a link to a story you can share with your kids.
